The voting period for the 2026 Ajax Municipal and School Board Elections is now underway, the Town of Ajax said. Eligible voters can cast a ballot by internet or telephone beginning Sunday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m., and the window stays open until Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m.
The eight-day period means residents do not need to show up at a polling place on a single election day. According to the Town, ballots can be submitted from anywhere using a computer, a mobile device or a telephone.
How to vote
Voters should follow the steps laid out in their Voter Information Letter, which contains everything needed to cast a ballot, the Town of Ajax said. Anyone who has questions or needs help voting can visit a Voter Assistance Centre, with locations and hours listed on the Town's election website.
The Town is urging everyone who is eligible to take part in the election, which will decide Ajax's municipal council and school board representatives. Full details, including voting instructions, candidate information and Voter Assistance Centre hours, are available at ajax.ca/Vote.
Residents who have not received a Voter Information Letter, or who are unsure whether they are on the voters' list, can find guidance on the same site, according to the Town of Ajax.
The voting period closes at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26.
